Hope you will all enjoy reading it. This might bring you
back the old memory especially during those school days.....

Signs that you are a 80s' baby:
You grew up watching G-Force, He-man, Transformers,
Thundercats, Silver Hawk, Woody Woodpecker, Chipmunks and
Mickey Mouse. Not to forget Ninja Turtles, Mask, Smurfs and
Voltron too.

Girls watched Japanese cartoon like My Little Pony, "Xiao
Tian Tian", "Hua Xian Zi" etc.

You grew up brushing your teeth with a mug in primary school
after recess time.

You squatted by a drain with all your classmates beside you,
and brushed your teeth with a colo urful mug.

Remember the days when the school nurse, comes with a list
for the ! dentist appointment, the sound of the drilling
when your friend has a fill in his tooth.

You remember the packets of milk we get in primary school to
encourage us to drink more milk. (It is only cost 30 cent
per pack)

In secondary school, girls go to the library to borrow their
favourite romance storybook.

In secondary school, girls altered their school skirt to
shorten it and guys will go to the school appointed school
uniform tailor shop
to tailor make their school trousers to the then
fashionable "baggy pants"!

During primary school days, the teacher will punish you
using a ruler to hit your palm.

A bowl of noodles soup cost only 30cent in primary school
days.

When you were in primary school, girls like to go to the
bookshop to buy cute stuff such as animal erasers, various
shape sharpeners, colourful notebook etc.

Hankyu Jaya, Yaohan departmental stores used to be a
favourite hangout for families dur! ing weekends.

In secondary school days, you buy the Bata BM Turbo or
Pallas Jazz school shoes.
Some guys like to wear those china made ankle high shoes.
Some even like to wear those very thick socks with their
school shoes.

Internet? E-mail? What the hell is that?

So you thought a decade or more ago, your friends don't have
pagers or handphones in school.

CDs? What's that? Cassette tapes were the norm. Movie
tickets used to cost less than $5 last time.

The goodies from Mama shop used to be Chickerdis, Mamee ,
Kum Kum, UFO, O-Ya, Ding Dang chocolate balls with toys in
the box, colourful hard "egg", "cigerette" bubble gum, KIKI
Bubble Gum, pink bottle of bubbles c/w a small tubes with
yellow sticks to blow "more lasting" bubbles that you can
pop more air in or slam it on.

You never forget 'Ti Kam'.
When exams are over, the board games (e.g Monopoly, Donkey,
Transportation Comparison Card) & held ! video games will be
all over the class room.

Your favourite sound is the bell!
For it's the homemade ice cream man. The cream that tops
Haagan Dazs!

And the other peddler you love is the old lady who sells
juicy Muah Chee and thick olden syrup rolled in a balloon
the tip of a chopstick stick.

Another bell is the recess bell, a time to get away from
school work and to eat.

Another time when there is no bell but all guys will
anxiously wait for it...The PJ (Pendidikan Jasmani), PE time
(time for football)

Your favourite childhood games were playing "gu
li"(marbles), five stones, five bottle cover, zero-point,
catching, "Pepsi-Cola one two
three" and/or "Police & Sentry"!

The best thirst quencher of all times is the yummy colourful
ice tubes you can buy from provision shops for only 10 cent.
To eat them, break the tab and suck while holding the
freezing tube!

All gals have a girl doll/strawberry shortcake/my little
pony/pound puppy, while all boys have a soldiers figurine
(combat) or a rubber
band catapult that shoots folded paper!

Once was the era whereby ice-cream sticks were valueable
items, then came the paper aircrafts, chalk fights.

Some boys made their own guns from wood, and used 'Bacali'
as the bullets.

Some even used matches to shoot and burn kids'lanterns
during MoonCake Festival.

And your favourite holiday was Lunar New Year! New clothes,
Ang Pows, shopping, junk food and family outings!

Let's see, the majority of students in universities today
were born in 1987 / 88.... They are called "youth".

For them, they have never heard of the song "We are the
World, we are the Children..." And the "Uptown Girl" they
know is by 'West Life' but not 'Billy Joel'.

For them, there have always been only one Germany and only
one Vietnam.
AIDS exists since they were born.

CD exists since they were born.

Michael Jackson is already whitened.

John Travolta is always round in shape and they can't
imagine how this fat guy could be a god of dance.

They believe that Spiderman and Incredible Hulk are just new
films.

They can never imagine a black and white screen for a
computer.

They never know what is Atari or 'Game & Watch'.

They can't believe a black and white television ever existed
and they don't even know how to switch on a TV without a
remote control.

And they never understand how we can go out without a mobile
phone when we were in university...

Let's check if we're getting old...

head.

We have access to time- and labour-saving devices beyond the dreams of any previous generation. Yet poor time-management skills and resultant stress seem a more common problem than ever before.

Do you recognise yourself in any of these common patterns?

* Feel overwhelmed by the pressures of modern living
* Can't say no
* Difficulty setting (and/or achieving) your goals
* Can't switch off at the end of the day
* Have problems finding time for the things and people that really matter
* Repeated procrastination
* Beset by interruptions, emergencies and deadlines

Try these top tips to beat stress.

1) One of the best ways of relaxing is to take some gentle exercise – 20 minutes every day or half an hour three times a week. Suggestions: take a brisk walk to work – even getting off the bus or train one stop earlier can help. Use an exercise bike while you watch TV or read a book. Take up a new (active) hobby such as dancing or swimming. If you have any form of heart condition, remember to check with your GP before you increase your levels of exercise.

2) Try meditating. The aim is to still your mental confusion and produce a state of calm which will relax your body and increase mental clarity. Sit quietly in a chair with your head supported and both feet flat on the floor. Close your eyes, take a deep breath and as you exhale focus on a word to suit your circumstances (examples: peace, love, calm). Breathe deeply several times. If you still find it hard to relax, imagine yourself on a beach in the sunshine – enjoy feeling the warmth of the sun on your skin, hear the lapping of the waters. The troubled thoughts of the day will try to force themselves into your mind, don’t worry. Just calmly put them to one side. Do this regularly for only ten minutes every day (more if you can spare the time) and you’ll soon feel the benefits.

3) If meditating is 'too much' for you, just spend some time each day alone and in silence. Research in Paris found that talking can send your blood-pressure through the roof! Silence and a good book may have a calming effect.

4) Laughter is one of the best ways to relieve tension – it exercises muscles in your face and abdomen and the bigger the belly laugh the greater the effect. Studies have shown that laughing can boost your immune system and even lower your blood pressure. Laughter releases endorphins, the body’s natural painkillers, which can increase your feel-good-factor. You may have to seek out cartoons or even think of silly incidents from your childhood to get you started, but make it a habit – and try and get workmates and family in on the act. You’ll all feel better for it. However if you really don’t feel like laughing don’t let that stop you – even fake laughter can have a beneficial effect as the ‘laughter’ muscles can’t tell the difference!

5) A glass of red wine in the evening may help you unwind - but don’t overdo it, restrict yourself to one glass a day for women or two for men!

6) Using a few drops of Camomile, Marjoram, Ylang-ylang, Sandalwood, Patchouli or Neroli essential oils in your bath at bed-time can help you relax after a hectic day. Make sure the bath isn’t too hot, as this could raise your blood pressure.

7) To help promote sleep, avoid eating late in the day – ideally allow three hours between your last meal and bedtime. When you do eat, make sure you’re sitting at a table concentrating on the meal in front of you, don’t snatch meals on the run, while working or watching television. If your posture is poor when you eat your digestive processes can be hampered, food may linger too long and sleep can be disturbed - let alone leaving yourself wide open to a range of digestive problems.

8) Learn to say 'No'. There are only 24 hours in the day. Be careful what you agree to take on.

9) Every day make some time just for you to do something YOU want to do. It could be reading, a lovely relaxing bath, a brisk walk or even something challenging that you’ve always wanted to do such as learning a new language. Any of these could help you feel better about yourself. Initially you may find you have difficulty setting aside ‘you’ time, so block out half an hour in your diary every day to give yourself permission! If you have a family, don’t feel guilty about this – the whole family will benefit when your stress levels are reduced.

Another way to make your visitors return. Try it out

I am sure you guys know how to make your visitors return to your site. It has been discussed in many forums, ebooks, blogs and etc.

I have a site, which started on Jan 1 2006. On Feb 2, my sites has been successfully getting 4k unique visits and from there I am thinking how can make my loyal visitors return to my site.

I have seen many websites out there still using the "Press Ctrl D to Bookmark" to make sure you wont lose your visitors.

For me, I am preferred using the shortcut to desktop methods. Instead of asking my loyal visitors to bookmark, I am putting a link for them to create a shortcut.

Remember , do not use auto create shortcut software , this will chase your visitors away , make sure is your visitors who willing to add the shortcut and not auto create by you.

As you can see from the attached images, it says, "Don't forget about us, We Love You So Much”. Everyone loves to be praised and loved by someone’s.

On Feb 4 onwards, every day I will check on my stats and thank god, 10% of my traffic are returning visitors. Creating shortcuts, 70% chances that your visitors will click on the links on their desktop and visit your sites. If someone is using his/her pc, she may click on the links too.

If you want to fully optimized the "Create Shortcut" techniques, make sure you have setup the favicon. Favicon is where you insert your website logo on the URL address bar, as shown on the above images. This to ensure your visitors recognize your websites by looking at your website logo in the desktop.
